my duty is to my father Tha archangel flew dagger-straight, down, down and down, uncaring of the wind slicing through his wing feathers, cruelly tearing out the small downy filoplumes which lay at the base of the flight feathers. His whole demeanor was one of determination, and anyone who dared approach him now would be a fool. His blue eyes were glazed and blank, not even Michael would have been able to see into his soul at that moment in time. Gabriel was lost.
His only thought was to deliver the message with which his Father had charged him. Nothing else would he allow inside his mind. Obedience was all there was. That was the way to his Father's heart.
He should not have told Michael of his mission, that much he did know. It was wrong of him to do so out of spite, and doubly wrong of him to do so as it was the Lord's express wish that the nature of the message should remain a secret. Once again Gabriel had failed, but this time it had been through disobeying God's wishes rather than obeying them blindly. Nothing he could do was ever right.
Finally after many gruelling hours of flight, he reached the outer edges of Hell, and felt the fetid stench of evil permeate his flesh. As he continued, shapes began to appear and dissappear around him, faces forming in the flames and mists, swirling, hands reaching out to touch him and drawing back before they made contact. These were the embodiments of lost souls, curious as to what manner of creature would fly in Hades unbound. Gabriel ignored these manifestations, single-minded now in his quest.
He would make God proud, this one last time he would stand up and be recognised as the good son, the best son, the true son.
At last he came to the very gates of Hell themselves, and here he was halted by demons of the lowest order.
"I bring news from above for your lord!" he declared. "Fetch him to me at once!" the rest can go to hell

The smell of such concentrated evil… such malice flowed forth from no where that even the demons that surrounded the gate retracted from it. Long Crimson wings idly flapped as Zaleth stepped forward. He let forth an insane laugh that could bring chills down even the most steeled of warriors. He drew his sword casually the fires that surrounded him dancing in ecstasy. “It…. Almost sounded as if…” He held up his free hand shacking his finger at Gabriel. “Like you… commanded us… to bring our lord here… which means you didn’t so much as command us… as you attempted to command lord Azazel. Name one good reason…” He let forth another fit of insane laughter. “we… w…we shouldn’t hahahah… Rip out your heart.” His fell eyes met Gabriel’s. “By the way… Welcome to Hell… if you don’t watch your tongue it will stay here when you leave.”

my duty is to my father Gabriel was not God's messenger for nothing, and not for nothing was he Heaven's greatest warrior, strongest soldier, and most dedicated follower of the Lord. He had seen sights far worse and far more fearful than any he could witness here, and most of those were on God's Earth. Humankind was capable of horrendous atrocities, and Gabriel's soul had been blackened by the punishments he had been charged with meting out.
In truth, the archangel was probably far better suited to abiding here among the slime of Satan, than he was to serving at God's left hand in Heaven. But he still had his pride, and his stubborn sense of duty. It was that, and his love for his Father, which prevented him from falling as his brother Sariel had once done.
He ignored the threat from the demon, refusing to look away as Zaleth laughed in his face. Pale eyes fixed impassively upon the face of evil, and Gabriel rolled his shoulders forward as he raised his wings in confrontation.
"I don't believe your master would appreciate it if this particular message were not delivered." His voice when he spoke was as inscrutable as his expression. "What I have to tell him will be to his benefit. I suggest you inform him of my presence."
Gabriel was not afraid to die, and it showed in his stance as he faced down the demon. His demeanour was not threatening, but neither did it show fear, and his fists clenched loosely by his sides.
the rest can go to hell

“heh he he he ha ho… ahhh what message from Heaven could be beneficial to us… but it is not my message to deny…” He turned grabbing one of the weaker demons by the throat and throwing him downwards. “Tell Lord Azazel he has a message from his father.” Zaleth sheathed his blade blood oozing from his sheathe. “You are quite courageous for an angel… I should know… their screams are simply beautiful… their blood is like gold to the crap consistency of mortals. Do you know who I am Gabriel… do you know the horror’s of Hell’s most vile admittee… a mortal supposed so vile… so evil that his sins and past made him into a demon…” His eyes narrowed as a sadistic smile crossed his lip. I hope I haven’t butchered any of your friends… those guardian angels are just… so much fun to dissect. Take apart piece by piece and devour their very essence as I torment their conscious eternally. Don’t you think so? No… you’d rather do to mortals wouldn’t you…” He let forth another fit of insane laughter.
The Demon tumbled down until he smashed against the floor of the inner sanctum it scurried forward falling to the floor before Azazel “Master… messenger from Heaven at the Gate!” He cried not wishing to anger the dark prince… he scurried out of reach. “It looked like Gabriel master”
Zaleth watched Gabriel the demon drawing a violin slowly pulling the bow over its strings in a hauntingly dark song. “Oh did you know that the city of Rome burned as its Emperor played the violin… do you not think it only proper that I play it as he burns?” He tilted his head his white hair swinging back and forth. “I once heard all dogs go to heaven… but I didn’t believe it till I saw you… I guess they all turn into angels… loyal blind… your god told you to come here… he threw you to hell and you just don’t believe it… there is no message is there… just an excuse, to come down and pay your better half a visit, is that it?”
