It was early in the morning and the club was shut down for the few hours before the daytime barkeep came in, strip clubs weren't too good of money makers in the morning when businessmen worked and other men were playing 'good husband'. She had to wait for Rebus to unlock the door. She was exhausted and her head ached, this was the last place she wanted to be right now, at least the music was off so there only blissful silence.
He wasn't gripping her arm so she didn't follow him like a puppy dog. Instead she went behind the bar and got a glass of water. She guessed the pill was starting to work because even though she still had a headache, she didn't feel intense pressure and the dizziness was better. "You're seriously not going to make me go up the stairs, there is no one here Donn" she said nodding towards his office. She went around the bar and sat down on a stool. What she needed was to find a bed.
She wasn't sure what he wanted to hear because she really couldn't read him at all. Normally she could see a look in his eyes, know what mood he is in, or see his tell and know he was agitated, but he really was like a stone wall right now. "I'm sorry" was all she said, it was an honest apology too, she said it quiet, barley audible. One hand griped the bar, afraid that she'd slip off the stool if she got dizzy, the other drank down the water to help the headache.
The easiest way out of this would be to be honest with him, but he had said nothing, and he was saying nothing now, so she couldn’t say or do anything. The silence was worse then him yelling, so she just turned around on the bar stool and looked at him, waiting for his anger or whatever was to come. She was alone with him, there was no one to protect her if he decided to take his anger out physically, but even so she wasn’t afraid of him, she was looking at him softly.
