Who here is in charge anyway?
Tony looked up from his clipboard of paperwork, glancing over to see who was asking. Noting the CSI badge and uniform, he felt a small sense of relief. Finally, some Forensics was here. Time to get the show on the road. What time was it anyway? Did Tony even want to know?
Stifling a yawn, Tony walked over to CSI De'Rei, "That'd be me I guess. Detective Burdock, Homicide. We're spread a little thin recently, so we're going to have to make do. I need you to start gathering what you can on what happened in that room, De'Rei." Tony motioned up to the open hole on the fourth floor, "I want confirmation on possible equipment used and anything you can get me on the residents who lived there. We're still digging into who owns the complex as well as a possible gang connection."

De’Rei looked up at the gaping hole and the charred immediate area. “Uh… that building doesn’t look like it was up to code -before- it was shot to shit… you sure that thing is safe to be walking around in…” He shook this thought away with a shrug. “Eh doesn’t really matter though… streak marks on the street do confirm a drive by… they seem to have paused in front of the building… which tells me that who ever shot it either didn’t know how to prep it or was taking his sweet time aiming… or they were here for a hell of a long time shooting at that building… the bastard had an oil leak.” He said motioning to a small oil stain where the skid marks started. “This reeks of a Russian hit… well they generally aim at the bed room… and have more then one car… some one was trying to make this look like a gang hit sir… god this town is going to Hell.” He started up the stairs heading up to where the most damage was. “Molotov… it used in accelerant which seemed to have caught the propane line.” He walked around until he managed to find a still somewhat intact slug. “This is very strange… they weren’t using the correct ammunition I’m starting to think they didn’t want to kill who ever they were aiming at… these bullets could barely pierce the wall…” He sighed. “Or some really pissed off gang bangers decided to take it on themselves to harass another gang… not sure what the hell exactly this was for.”

Tony nodded absently to De'Rei's remarks.
"Just make sure we get everything catalogued and filed properly. If something goes to court because of this, I don't want a chance of some ganger going free because of a technicality. The fire department cleared the immediate area for structural concerns but be careful just the same. We need to work as quickly as possible."
With a yawn, Tony noticed the morning sun. Shaking his tired head, he took a moment to compose his thoughts before continuing. Turning to another nearby uniform, he began delegating orders.
"Let's start getting this wrapped up. I'm sure everyone is tired. Tie off the area of the explosion, rotation and maintain a guard to make sure no one tries to wander into that mess..." Tony pointed up to the damage, "...and let's let the CSI's and Forensics do their job. Any non-essentials need to be released so they can go home and get some sleep. I'm going to head out myself...more then likely the brass is going to want a statement later, and I would like to sleep before I have to address any higher-ups."
Waiting around long enough to see his orders get obeyed, Tony gathered his things and returned to his car. A short drive later brought him back to his home where fatigue finally took hold of him.

De’Rei nodded beginning the long process of photographing, bagging, and tagging of evidence. He carefully looked over shrapnel from what he assumed was the RPG round. He carefully collected these piece before digging out what bullet slugs he could from the wall. After a few quick pictures of the burns and initial area of the explosion he headed down to take a few picture’s of the ski marks cataloguing several shells that seemed to have fell out of the car due to their less then tactful performance.

(Hour-2 hours after Kenny leaves St. Anthony's)
Kenny went up the stairs slowly and quietly, putting his car keys back in his pocket. He was filthy from a day’s work and the following fire, and probably smelled perfectly delightful, but he had to get some things first before going home. He took out his phone and hit the speed dial to Trisha. A soft woman's voice answered, a tired voice, "Hello?" she said. Kenny smiled at the sound of her voice, "Hey babe". The voice went from tired to excited, "Good morning!" she said almost sing song. "Aren't you supposed to be working this morning?" she asked. Kenny sighed, what lie would he tell her, well he didn't have to lie much this time. "Yeah uh, Dahlia's trash apartment finally tried to consume her. Her stove caught on fire, she's ok, but I doubt there's anything left". So many white lies to Trisha, but he didn’t see a good reaction of “I’m a thug sweetie, I have killed people for money and those drugs on the street, I help them get there”.
He groaned as he hit the third floor, one more set of stairs. "Oh no! Does she need anything?" she asked excited and worried. He could hear movement, he guessed she was getting out of bed. "Yeah um, that’s why I'm calling, can she borrow some of your clothes?" Trisha laughed, "Oh she can have them, I have way too many, I should open a goodwill! Yeah come over and I'll give ya a bag to give her". Kenny smiled, Trisha had a good heart, and she was one of the few women who hadn't been sucked into Angel Falls dark side. "Ok, I really miss you" he said. He heard the movement stop on the other side of the phone, "Are you ok Ken?" asked Trisha worried.
Kenny leaned against the wall as he finally made it to the fourth floor. Seriously, the girl needed to move to a building with an elevator. "Yeah, I just need to see you today, call off work". "Ok!" Trisha said excited. "See you soon" he said. Trisha said she loved him and it was like he was covered in soot and had just jumped into the shower, Trisha had a way of taking away the dirt in his heart from doing his job. "I love you too babe" he said before hanging up. He looked at the burnt door, "She's moving to the first floor" he grumbled.
He didn’t fish for the extra key in his pocket, fully expecting the door to be left open, cops were good for that, and as he pushed on the door it was. It was a heavy metal door, as when you had their job it wasn’t uncommon to have someone try to break in. He sighed when he looked in. The place was a burnt crisp. Dahlia wasn’t like most women, she only had three pairs of shoes and few clothes and other materialistic crap, but there was a few things worth more gone. Her tv worth 5 grand was in pieces, and her records that were old and semi-rare were melted, Dahlia wouldn’t be happy about that.
At least she had her life. Kenny knew if he hadn’t been there, there would be chalk outline by the sofa. He made his way over the debris, past her bedroom door, to the linen closet. He opened the door and laughed, her linens were untouched, he moved them out of the way and slid out the wood slats.
He didn’t think it likely anyone would live in this apartment again, so instead of trying to slide his big, thick man fingers behind the false wall he leaned back and slammed his foot into the wall. The false wall easily crunched under his heavy boot and he leaned back over grabbing the pieces and throwing them over his shoulder. Behind the pieces was a fireproof safe. He knew the combination, it was her birthday, her mother’s, and her high school athlete number. The safe clicked and he opened it grabbing the contents.
He pulled out a laptop, an ipad, and a small box. The box tinkled as he pulled it out. It had her father’s initials on it. She kept the box here because she truly cared less what happened to it, her mother’s, which she did care for, was in a box in a secure building downtown. Dahlia may be loyal to Rebus, but even as deep as her loyalty to him ran, she had no plans on remaining a little thug her whole life, and this laptop and ipad had her way out on it.
She had taken her GED a month earlier and scored a perfect, and was enrolled online in the fall for something, he couldn’t remember the fancy name for the damn course, but she was studying technology down to the microchip, learning the ins and outs of business, and accounting. Dahlia had showed him how she could make millions of dollars in a year overseas moving counterfeit goods and items, and how the main heads never were accountable for it because it was an international illegal trade, and governments just did not like cooperating with one another, if the government wasn’t taking bribes themselves. She had said she was going to get her foot in the door as an accountant willing to turn the other cheek, and she fully intended to leave Angel Falls forever to go to Europe. She had pictures on her ipad of all the places she wanted to live, she had little intention of settling down in Angel Falls, not that he could ever see a settled down Dahlia, that girl was like fire and ice.
He put the items in a bag he brought and made his way to her bedroom. Everything was burnt up pretty bad. He saw her dagger, the metal was tinged a little, but as he hit the flat of the blade against the wall it didn’t break so he put it in the bag. That was all to save really besides the linens, and he really didn’t think Dahlia cared about them.
He sighed and put the bag over his shoulder and began to make his way downstairs to drop the bag off to his brother, he didn’t know where she was, so it was a neutral spot to leave it, plus he intended on telling his brother that he was not going to charge her money for information on this, this was personal, and he would do it free or Kenny would break something…again.

About an hour after Tyson left Daniels mansion. During the 30 minutes he changed clothes, took a shower and smoked a ciggerate.
nothing left, just an empty heart.
Tyson was finally ready. He had the gun, white gloves, a pack of cigarettes, and the nerves of steel. How could he do this? He asked himself. Take another life, no biggie. Just another soul that won't see daylight. Tyson vaguely wondered what it was like to live your final day and know the fact that you're going to die at sunset. He shuddered at the thought. He willed himself to enter the apartment building.
His ice blue eyes scanned the area on the first floor.
Come out Come out wherever you are...
He felt different. He wasn't Tyson anymore. He was The Underdog, a top assassin, heartless and young.
"Kenny," He called out, his voice low and sad. He had the gun hidden well. His gloved hands slung in his pocket, one hand on the gun, one finger on the trigger.
"Please,, I need to talk to you." no trace of lying in his voice. He really needed to talk to Kenny.
Everything short of suicide.

Kenny tensed as he heard someone call a name, heard a voice he wasn’t familiar with. As he came down to the first floor he saw the young kid again. He knew the look in his eyes, knew the stance, everything. Kenny sighed, didn’t go for his gun, he was too tired, too old for these games, the fact that it was time for him to get out was becoming more and more apparent.
He stepped down the last stair and stood in front of the young man. “She’s not here, she’s with Rebus, and I have no idea where he has her. If you are really determined to find her, I can take you to someone who can get you in contact with her”. The kid reminded him of Dahlia in a lot of ways, he was too young to be in this life, both were conflicted people, he could see the same look in his eyes as hers, both were young cubs in a den of angry, fierce lions.
“I’m going to go deliver some of her things where she can pick it up, whatever you have to say, say it on the way, I’d like to make sure these get to her, its what left of her things.”

Tyson
I hope you can see the pain behind these tired eyes of mine.
Tyson stared at Kenny. His enemy, his friend. How could Kenny trust him. How could Tyson kill him, kill him in cold blood as if he was some sort of animal. He forced himself to think of his daughter. It only took one life to get him to his daughter. One bullet, one last murder.
It was almost as if he could feel his soul dieing. "This is the only way." He whispered, pulling out the gun.
It's impossible to describe the unimaginable strength it took to pull the trigger. Still he couldn't believe he did it. Another life lost in the game.
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good, Oh Lord, please don't let me drown.

A woman coming in with groceries screamed as she saw a dead body. The cops were immediately called and it didn't take them long to come back to the apartment building...again. The uniforms made comments about how this place was just a cesspool for death. They left the body for the investigator, but like uniforms do, they walked around, tampering with evidence. One of the higher ups of the officer called in De'Rai (ooc: i hope I spelled that right raven!). "Don't touch anything, you don't want him getting pissy!" one of the said, as if he was making fun of them. One of the others, who hoped to make it to detective, scolded him for making such a comment, so they began to make fun of him instead. It made them feel better, belittling someone, taking their mind off of being out in the ghetto for some thug.
